Vexilla regis prodeunt inferni

let's talk about the devil

Even though Dante refuses to describe him in detail, he still gives a whole canto of information about his appearance and torment. Let's start where Dante started, the face[s]. Satan is said to have three faces of three different colors; red, yellow, and black. The colors represent hatred, impotence, and ignorance (in order). But also showing the number 3 as a symbol to represent a trinitarian idea; however, in this case, it shows what The Trinity is not. Also together the head of Satan has 6 symbols representing the idea of imperfection (separating Satan from God even more). The head itself symbolizes the 'seat of spiritual energy' or in other words a soul or connection to the divine. now we can make an acknowledgment to more separation with the connection of 'imperfection' and lucifer's 'connection to the divine.' Lucifer also has six eyes, again showing imperfection in his wisdom/knowledge or, plainly, sight. In Revelation, John remarks that Christ has seven eyes and seven horns symbolizing His omnipotence and omniscience. while Lucifer has neither. Moving away from his head, Lucifer also has six wings in which he uses to try to escape and ends up freezing the lake under him.

With this third characteristic, we can see a very interesting symbol, three sixes. Satan has 6 eyes. 6 wings. And 3 faces of 3 colors. (3+3=6). all of that equals the mark 666.

I know that was a little far fetched, but I still have my aluminum foil hat on from the last post.
