Biblical readings through a nonbiblical lense
What I liked most about this reading is how I had to change how I saw the bible when reading from Burrows' History of Histories. I read the stories and viewed them as merely stories and historical representations and excluded the divine authorization of God. The book also noted how the overlap of the themes in the bible were reflected and applied to other religions and their stories. It was interesting to see some insight into how other people groups viewed Christianity BC and how they responded to the stories and prophesies.
I also like how much it represents God's sovereignty over His creation. God is in complete control and through every slip up and mistake the Israelite's caused He continued to fulfill His promise and further the advancement of the Gospel.
P.S. I commented on Cade and Joshua's post
