Why tho?

Okay, so to start, why? This entire excerpt is just a redundant writing that expresses how the Patricians wanted nothing to do with the Plebeians and how the Plebeians only wanted the same exact rights that the Patricians had. All that I thought of while reading this was slavery in America. The Patricians chose to view the Plebeians as a completely different peoples and a lesser one at that. They refused to offer them rights and took normal human rights away. The ending did kind of make up for it with the right given to the plebeians to vote, but it was honestly just a tiny step towards a larger goal.
