Equality? What's that?

I think Socrates was onto something. Equality, destruction of some unnecessary social boundaries, and a desire to better society as a whole? That sounds like a pretty good plan to me. No, I don’t think taking newborn babies from the hands of their mothers is ethical. Nor is having multiple giant communal sex sessions to produce an environment in which babies are born and pushed into some mass family structure. But on paper… it works! His desire to create this innate brother and sisterhood between all the people seems like a good way to prevent fighting and encourage people to work together in society.

Also, yes women should be educated! Society can only gain from this. Women being able to work better and smarter, as well as take on tasks previously delegated only to men. It’s a great way to allow for the men to focus more on achieving their goals, while also allowing women to move up in society and have more freedoms and rights; Allowing them to be more progressive. Yes, I understand this completely goes against what Athenian’s expected of women. However, what Socrates believed certainly could have sparked some peoples hearts to seek out change and reform of their current way of living.
