What Goes Around Comes Back Around

Okay so first thing's first (I'm the realest). No but really, this is the most I have ever related with a story. The anger that Orestes and Electra feel towards their mother after the murder of their father I believe is fully justified. And the fact that they struggle soooo long with what to do about the situation, I think exemplifies how much they still loved their mother even after her murderous rampage. However, I don't believe that Clytemnestra loved her children.
I think that Clytemnestra seems a lot more concerned with her own outcome after the murder of Agamemnon than her children's. I also think that the fact that she marries their UNCLE after all of this is just insane. Does she not understand how trailer park trash that is? Okay well obviously not because they didn't have trailer parks, but honestly, it's messed up. I think that had she left the whole situation with Agamemnon alone, her children would probably still love her. I understand that he also had affairs, but 'hell hath no fury like a woman scorned' has to be the best way to describe Clytemnestra. I think that she and Aegisthus are the epitome karma. I think that they got exactly what was coming to them and the irony of Clytemnestra basically predicting her own downfall is the icing on top of the cake.

I commented on Moriah and Breanna's :)

  1. I like your thought process. I agree that that Clytemnestra was so absorbed with her own vendetta, that she neglected to consider the repercussions her actions would have on her other children. She was a mom first and foremost, but she allowed rage to blind her.

  2. I do understand how they have the whole eye for an eye attitude towards their mother. I think their anger is justified especially since their mother’s selfish actions caused them to suffer. Really and truly Agamemnon didn’t suffer he just died which caused the pain and suffering to fall on their living children. I do think there is way too much murdering in this story so I understand them killing her but I am unsure if that’s what should have been done.
