Don't Mind Waiting
The section speaking about the value of patience really gave me a perspective on patience I’d never thought of before. The fact that patience is dependant on things that are evil. Patience operates on evil things, to be what it is. Patience is to not take part in things that are available now but to enjoy them in there correct timing. In times of hardship, we must endure with patience and anticipate the good that will come. Patience is necessary to endure evil, as well as to avoid it.
“The learning of a man is known by his patience”. This quote took me some time to figure out, but I think it is speaking of how, as a man better understands life, getting more experience and seeing more things, he understands the importance of being patient. While still very immature we as humans tend to seek out instant gratification, not understanding that waiting has so many benefits to one's life, health, and understanding of the world. The experience a man gains shows him what he has to gain from patience.
I don’t understand why in the end of the excerpt about The Value Of Patience it says “nothing can hurt God, and nothing can hurt them.” Is he assuming that patience is a means of getting out of trouble to responsibility? Or maybe he is implying that through patience , one can endure more and understand more through patience. Either way, patience is definitely something that improves one's quality of life.

Patience is definitely not easily mastered, and I am not quite sure it actually can be done. I know for a fact I am f a r from being the most patient person! It always has been and will continue to be something we all probably will struggle with. This was a great blog, C!
ReplyDeletePatience is honestly a gift that not all people have. I agree with Hannah when she commented that she is not the most patient person, because I am not either. But your blog on patience reminds me of something I read last semester. I believe it was in Ecclesiastes. But it said that the quiet man seems smarter than one who is always talking (sorry for my rough paraphrase). I know it doesn't really relate much, but in my head i just put the two together. When it said "the learning of a man is known by his patience," I thought to myself "If the learned man is patient, then that is why the quieter man seems more intelligent." Maybe he seems that way because people assume he has patience.
