So I guess I'll be letting my inner preacher man come out here. What we can all gather from the New Testament is that Christians are set apart above and beyond what the Jews had been. Christ fulfilled the law and set forth a new way to live that freed people from tradition and legalism. When Nero persecuted the Christians, he knew that they did not follow the "Roman" way.

Romans, as we have seen, had a system in place to insure society ran smoothly. Anything that could threaten the peace became a target. Christians spreading the faith were exactly the target Nero chose. Let fire fall and burn Rome. In all of this, the Believers kept the faith and remained true to the One who saved them.

History shows that a group of people or even one determined one can change the world, even in times of persecution. Christ set the example and those who follow him continue to change the world for the better despite harsh, and often deadly opposition.

P.S. I will comment on Phillip and Katie's posts.
