Love and Honor

As I read through the small excerpt given on Thucydides, I've came across a meaningful quote given by Pericles, "For this offering of their lives made in common by them all they each of them individually received that renown which never grows old, and for a sepulchre, no so much that in which their bones have been deposited, but that noblest of shrines wherein their glory is laid up to be eternally remembered upon every occasion on which deed or story shall call for its commemoration" (Pg.4). Pericles uses this as to symbolize honor to be held at high standard, not only for a fight in life, but to honor one and their love for the family. Respect given through this statement shows value and representation for heroes so that they live in freedom and peace.

P.S. I commented on Gray and Spencer's Post
