Rule: Chance or Sovereignty? -Anna Grace Gay
Go ahead and prepare yourself in advance, this blog post is most likely going to be jumping around all over the place.
"Do you suppose that this is a world ruled by random, chance events, or do you believe some reason guides it?" -Book 1,6
Boethius knows it could never be a random accident. He says," I know quite well that God presides over the work he has created." Just look at the world, the detail in every little living plant and all the animals to the specific details in the lives of each specific person in this world. There is no way that was all created or is ruled by some chance or coincidence. There is just no way something that miraculous and amazing could happen by chance or could be sustained and ruled by nothing. I love the next line, "And there will never come a time when I will abandon the truth of this assertion." This should be a statement that we all live by. We should never want to leave or deny the truth we know. We should also know where we stand and be confident in that stand. It is obvious Boethius stands by this statement and believes it wholeheartedly. What is your answer to that question? Mine is that I believe this world is ruled by God. He is the origin of everything. He created everything and is in charge over everything. He was here before the beginning of time and always will be forever and ever, as hard as that is for our brain's to fathom.
I also began to think about this line, "This way you will be able to recognize the brightness of the true light, as the shadows of deceptive desires have been pushed aside." So I most likely am going to take this out of context, but here we go. The way I think about that statement is we will be able to see how God's truth shines the brightest and will outshine the lies that satan tells us and pushes those lies away. Satan wants to fill our minds with ideas of the worldly things that supposedly rule this world and how it is all by chance. Those lies can only be pushed aside as we grow in our understanding of God's word and what the actual truth is when it comes to how God rules over this world and the simple fact that He has a plan for everything and for everyone's lives.
Thank you for sticking this blog post out until the end, you are a trooper.
P.S. I commented on Katie and Kayla's posts.

I agree and in reality we can see the guiding hand of God in so much. "Scientists" and Atheist would like us to believe everything is chance, but the amazing thing is that they can never shut out God. The Bible has many passages that clearly state things we now know as fact through science. the curvature of the Earth, Earth's free float through space, underwater currents, etc. They were mentioned in the Word before we ever discovered them as fact. I think this in itself proves Boethius' point. Without an outside force guiding everything, nothing would work at all. Your post hit the proverbial nail on the head.
